Grease Trap

supplyhouse has a wide range of grease traps that are used to eliminate grease and oil from wastewater. They are mostly used in commercial kitchens and restaurants. Grease Traps slow the flow of wastewater using a holding tank. Once the water is slowed down, it cools and allows the grease to separate from the water. The cooled water is then allowed to exit the grease trap while the grease is trapped.

Grease traps is an innovative and eco-friendly drain cleaner, making it the perfect solution to drainage problems caused by the build-up of grease, oil and fat in commercial kitchens and restaurants. The use of harsh caustic chemical cleaners or acids for clearing unwanted obstructions is no longer guaranteed to solve the problem. Not only are these chemicals dangerous for both the user and the environment, but also detrimental to the existing plumbing, drain-lines and drainage installations. Now it’s been made mandatory for grease trap installation in all facilities where food is prepared on a commercial scale.

The size of a grease trap required depends upon the amount of waste that is produced by a given facility. To determine the correct size grease trap use the dimensions of the waste sinks. The traps are differentiated by their pounds and gallons per minute. Grease Traps can be placed under the sink or they can be buried.

supplyhouse.com offers Zurn Grease Traps widely used in the food industry at very affordable rates with free shipping for purchases over $300.

    Honeywell Zone Valves

Honeywell Zone Valves are now the most widely used devices for zoning a hydronic heating system. A zone valve eliminates the need for a Flow-Check valve and relays, and simplifies the piping required for a hydronic heating system. Because zone valves are compact they permit great flexibility of location in any heating system. In most zoned heating systems, especially when there are more than 2 zones, zone valves have a definite cost advantage over using a hydronic/water circulator in each zone. A single hydronic/water circulator in the system can supply many zone valves.

supplyhouse.com offers a large selection of Zone Valves, including Taco Zone Valves, Honeywell Zone Valves, Taco Zone Valve Controls and more. Zone Valves can be used to control the flow of water to a given zone in a Hydronic Heating System. Some of the most popular Honeywell Zone Valves include the V8043 line of Honeywell Zone Valves. Taco also makes a variety of zone valves including the 570 Series Taco Zone Valves and the ESP and Geothermal Taco Zone Valves.

Honeywell Zone Valves are some of the most commonly used Zone Valves in the industry. These Honeywell Zone Valves are designed for hydronic heating systems. ON-OFF and two-way low voltage valves consist of an actuator and valve assembly for controlling the flow of hot water and some models for steam. Zone valves control the flow of water to a specific zone in a hydronic heating system

    Taco Circulator Pump

Pumps or circulator pumps are an integral part of any Hydronic system. The pumps are used to send water to an area of the hydronic system when it is called for, or to keep the flow of water in the system. For proper installation the pumps should be purchased with a pair of flanges to connect to the water line.

Taco Pumps are the best selling pumps on SupplyHouse.com. These pumps include the Taco Cast Iron Pumps, the Taco Cast Iron IFC Pumps, and the Taco Bronze Pumps. Taco Pumps are ideal for radiant heat systems. The may be used in the primary loop, or for zoning purposes they may be used along with a swithing relay and thermostats. The best selling Taco pump is the Taco 007 Cast Iron Circulator Pump.

Taco Circulator Pumps are designed for use in Hydronic and Radiant Heating Systems. The Cast Iron Taco Pumps are the signature green color. They include the IFC Pumps (Taco Pumps with Integral Flow Check). The Taco 007 Cast Iron Pump is our best selling pump. Taco Cast Iron Pumps should be used with the Cast Iron Pump Flanges. These flanges are sold in pairs; come in several different sizes, and should be selected based on the pipe size you are using. Replacement cartridges are made to replace the cartridges for Taco Pumps. These are a good option, however they are expensive relative to the cost of the pump, and often times not as readily available as the pumps themselves.

    Radiant Heat Manifolds

Manifolds play an important role in Radiant Heat applications. Manifolds are the place where supply water from the heat source is separated into smaller lines and dispersed throughout the Radiant Heat System. It comes with Supply and return manifold, End Caps, End Cap w/ Vent, Mounting Bracket, and Loop Adapters for 1/2" PEX and 1/2" PEX-AL-PEX. Not included are the Supply/return adapters, PEX Tubing, and Controls.

The entire radiant floor heating manifold & control packages comes with the control panel and the pump wired with plug-in cords attached. This allows you to plug the heating system into a small generator during power outages plus it allows you to replace the circulating pump without rewiring. In case of a control panel or zone valve failure the pump can be plugged into the wall to bypass the controls. These solid manifolds are self-purging and the insert/compression style fittings require no special tools for making your connections.

  • Manifolds won't tarnish or corrode, they are made of solid cast brass. We customize your manifold and control assembly per your project requirements.
  • Each loop has its' own flow control adjustment for balancing and can be isolated if necessary.
  • Connections are simple and require no specialized tools. Simply insert the PEX and tighten the compression nut.
  • Manifolds are self-purging.
  • Actuator valves are low voltage and slow to open. This eliminates noise from water hammer and reduces power consumption.
  • High-Efficiency, High-Head, High Quality Pump features an easy to replace cartridge for easy future maintenance. It's virtually silent and pre-wired to simplify your radiant heating installation.

    Pex Manifolds

PEX Plumbing Manifolds are used to ease the installation of PEX Plumbing systems. These manifolds include the Wirsbo Aquacenter manifolds and copper manifolds. Be sure to select the right fittings and adapters to go along with these manifolds.

Wirsbo’s Aqucenter Valved Manifold comes with three or four NPSM or ProPEX outlets. The Aquacenter is made from EP, suitable for hot and cold-water distribution systems. The manifolds can be joined to other Aquacenter Valved Manifolds using manifold couplings, and can be supplied with 3/4- or 1-inch ProPEX inlets. The kit includes manifold, red and blue valve clips, labels, valve-turning tool and installation instructions. Valved manifold inlets, couplings, caps, swivel adapters and assembly/mounting brackets are purchased separately.

Wirsbo 1" Copper Valved Manifolds (type "L" copper) feature 1/2" ProPEX outlets is a soldered valve connection that allows simple and easy isolation of individual loops. Copper Manifold Sections can sweat together to extend the number of outlets using a standard 1-inch copper coupling. Do not exceed accepted flow rates for 1-inch nominal copper. Both 1-inch ends of this PEX Manifold are copper pipe size and require a copper end cap, coupling or transition fitting to make the proper system connection. ProPEX Tool is required as well as ProPEX Rings that are purchased separately.

    Pex Fittings & Pex Valves

PEX Fittings are used for connections in Radiant Heat applications. supplyhouse.com has three types of PEX Fittings. They include: the Wirsbo QS-Style Fittings (compression), the Wirsbo SSC PEX Fittings (Clamp style), and the Wirsbo ProPEX Fittings (Expansion style). Each of these systems has advantages over the other.

  • Wirsbo QS-Style Fittings (compression): are designed and tested for use with Wirsbo AQUAPEX and the PEX plus tubing.

  • Wirsbo SSC PEX Fittings (Clamp style): They require the SSC Clamping Tool and Clamps. They are barbed and can make connections to copper, or ips.

  • Wirsbo ProPEX Fittings (Expansion style): manufactured by Uponor, formerly known as Wirsbo. The fittings are widely used throughout the US and Europe for PEX Tubing connections. Each PEX Fitting connection requires the use of a ProPEX expansion tool and a ProPEX ring.

Also included in PEX Fittings are Fitting assemblies that allow you to connect PEX to a manifold, or to use compression fittings to connect PEX to copper or NPT. The valves included in this category include PEX Ball Valves, PEX Stop Valves, and PEX Washing Machine Boxes & Ice Maker Boxes. These valves are designed for use in PEX Plumbing and Radiant Heat systems.

    Taco valves

Taco created the WAGS valve to protect consumers from a common problem: flooding and damage caused by a water heater failure. It happens some 5.5 million times every year. Every water heater fails, most within 7 to 10 years. And because water continues to be supplied, a leaking water heater can pour hundreds or thousands of gallons of water into the home, damaging floors, rugs, furniture, personal items and the structure itself.

The WAGS (Water And Gas Shut-off) Valve eliminates the problem by automatically shutting off the water supply when a leak occurs. On gas-fired water heaters, WAGS also shuts off the gas supply to eliminate another potentially serious hazard.
WAGS can easily be installed on new or existing water heaters, both to protect the homeowner's property and give them peace of mind.

All homeowners are discovering the wisdom of having a WAGS Water And Gas Safety valve installed on their water heater. No matter the brand or how much the cost, the fact is, every water heater will eventually fail, usually within 7 to 10 years. Without a Taco WAGS valve, a leaking tank will keep refilling and leaking. An undetected water heater leak can release hundreds, even thousands, of gallons of water. For the first time, you can offer a solution to a problem that affects over 5.5 million households every year by opting for Taco valves.

    Oxygen Barrier PEX Tubing

Oxygen diffusion is a topic often mentioned when discussing Radiant HeatSystems. Oxygen diffusion refers to the ability of oxygen to pass through certain materials such as PEX. The problem with oxygen diffusion is that it can cause corrosion of metal(iron, cast iron) components in a Radiant Heat or hydronic heating system. The solution to this problem is to use oxygen barrier PEX tubing such as Wirsbo hePEX Tubing, Mr. PEX-al-PEX Tubing, and Wirsbo Multicor Tubing. This oxygen barrier tubing will prevent oxygen from damaging any of the components in the system.

    Wood Flooring with Radiant Heat

There are many myths and misconceptions regarding the use of wood floors over a Radiant Heat System. However, there are several important things to remember. First 80 degrees should be the max floor temperature used for wood floors. Next, the narrower the boards (the more nails, and the more boards) the less the movement will be due to expansion and contraction of the wood. Finally the harder the wood the more stable it will be, and quarter sawn wood is more preferrable (but it is much more expensive). Floor sensors are a good tool to use with wood floors in a radiant heat system.

    DIN 4726

DIN 4726 is a standard that is often mentioned when referring to PEX Tubing. This is a measure of the ability of PEX Tubing to prevent oxygen diffusion. This is a German Standard, which all of the oxygen barrier PEX and PEX-al-PEX on SupplyHouse.com pass. The Oxygen barrier prevents rusting of ferrous components in hydronic heating systems.
