Radiant Heat Insulation to Fit YourJob

It is recommended to use insulation in any radiant heat installation. Foam is the most common type and is great if you are pouring a new slab, but in many cases the floor is already built and there is not enough room to use two inches of foam insulation. In these cases, Thick Barrier Insulation is a great option because it still provides some insulation value, but it much thinner and very easy to work with. Double-faced adhesive provides a seamless vapor barrier once installed. This insulation and other radiant heat installation parts are available at www.supplyhouse.com.

Extend the Life of a Hot Surface Ignitor

Hot Surface Ignitors can be easily broken so it is important to install and handle them properly. Similar to a halogen light bulb, you should not touch the actual bulb of the hot surface ignitor at any point. Ideally you should wear gloves when installing it to prevent any oils from your hands from getting on the bulb. You should also be sure to mount it securely so that it is not rattling every time the boiler fires, causing wear and tear on the ignitor. These simple preventative measures will make a difference in the life of the product. It is also a great idea to keep a replacement on hand as a back-up and an easy, do-it-yourself fix for many some common issues.

Check out the Hot Surface Ignitors and other boiler parts at SupplyHouse.com for replacement parts and other system components that are great to have on hand for back-up.

Connecting your Towel Warmers

Towel Warmers can be hooked up to an existing hot water line, but not to a domestic hot water line. Hooking up the towel warmer to an existing domestic water line would compromise your drinking water and will likely violate local plumbing code.

With tons of stylish models made Amba and Runtal, you have lots of options to choose from. Just be sure to properly connect your towel warmers to your system and they'll be toasty in no time!

PEX-AL-PEX Stands Up to the Heat

PEX-AL-PEX has the same temperature pressure ratings as regular PEX tubing, but the aluminum core layer in the middle keeps it from losing its shape even in high temperature systems. This is one of the greatest benefits of PEX-AL-PEX and makes it a popular choice for high temperature systems such as Warmboard, baseboard and fan coils.

MultiCor PEX-AL-PEX
, Viega FostaPEX and Rifeng PEX-AL-PEX are popular brands available at SupplyHouse.com
