Air scoops are designed to assure that hydronic heating and cooling systems run silently by removing all of the air from the system. Since air is lighter than water, it travels along the top of pipes and an air scoop is able to swiftly scoops up any bubbles of air that might rise up, leaving only the water to flow though.
