Wiring for Taco Zone Valves

While two circuits (each with its own transformer) touch at terminal #2, they do not communicate or interfere with each other in any way. Each circuit flows only in that circuit. This occurs because the transformer in either circuit cannot cause a voltage or current driving force to be realized in the other circuit when joined only at one point to that circuit.

Why use a full port zone valve?

A full port zone valve is true to it's pipe size. A 3/4" zone valve full port is true 3/4" throughout the bore, therefore the CV value the valve can handle is higher than a valve that is not full port. In other words, the pressure drop through a full port valve is a lot less than with a valve that is not full port.

PEX, the environmentally friendly plumbing pipe

While it may seem hard to believe that plastic is better for the environment than metal pipe, PEX proves that it’s possible. Since copper tubing weighs more than PEX, it requires significantly more energy to both refine and melt into shape. And, once PEX is installed, the energy efficiency gets more prominent. There is less heat loss with PEX than copper, and PEX is freeze resistant so less energy is needed to heat the water running through PEX pipe. This adds up to a more environmentally friendly product that saves you money, too.

PEX Tubing can be purchased straight from the source at www.supplyhouse.com

Using a tankless heater for your space heating

Tankless heaters are designed for domestic use. A unit that says 199,000 BTU's will not give you 199,000 BTU's for space heating. That is just a rating on what the unit needs to deliver hot water at its listed gpm. To find out how may BTU's this unit will deliver for space heating, there is a quick formula you can use. Find out what GPM the unit will deliver (e.g. 5 gpm). As a rule of thumb, at a 20 degree delta t (the difference in temperature between the supply water and the return water) you can deliver 10,000 BTU's per GPM (10,000 BTU's X 5 GPM). This unit would give you 50,000 BTU's for space heating. This works for Takagi Tankless Water Heaters, Bosch Tankless Water Heaters, and Stiebel Eltron Tankless Water Heaters.

Grease Trap

supplyhouse has a wide range of grease traps that are used to eliminate grease and oil from wastewater. They are mostly used in commercial kitchens and restaurants. Grease Traps slow the flow of wastewater using a holding tank. Once the water is slowed down, it cools and allows the grease to separate from the water. The cooled water is then allowed to exit the grease trap while the grease is trapped.

Grease traps is an innovative and eco-friendly drain cleaner, making it the perfect solution to drainage problems caused by the build-up of grease, oil and fat in commercial kitchens and restaurants. The use of harsh caustic chemical cleaners or acids for clearing unwanted obstructions is no longer guaranteed to solve the problem. Not only are these chemicals dangerous for both the user and the environment, but also detrimental to the existing plumbing, drain-lines and drainage installations. Now it’s been made mandatory for grease trap installation in all facilities where food is prepared on a commercial scale.

The size of a grease trap required depends upon the amount of waste that is produced by a given facility. To determine the correct size grease trap use the dimensions of the waste sinks. The traps are differentiated by their pounds and gallons per minute. Grease Traps can be placed under the sink or they can be buried.

supplyhouse.com offers Zurn Grease Traps widely used in the food industry at very affordable rates with free shipping for purchases over $300.

    Honeywell Zone Valves

Honeywell Zone Valves are now the most widely used devices for zoning a hydronic heating system. A zone valve eliminates the need for a Flow-Check valve and relays, and simplifies the piping required for a hydronic heating system. Because zone valves are compact they permit great flexibility of location in any heating system. In most zoned heating systems, especially when there are more than 2 zones, zone valves have a definite cost advantage over using a hydronic/water circulator in each zone. A single hydronic/water circulator in the system can supply many zone valves.

supplyhouse.com offers a large selection of Zone Valves, including Taco Zone Valves, Honeywell Zone Valves, Taco Zone Valve Controls and more. Zone Valves can be used to control the flow of water to a given zone in a Hydronic Heating System. Some of the most popular Honeywell Zone Valves include the V8043 line of Honeywell Zone Valves. Taco also makes a variety of zone valves including the 570 Series Taco Zone Valves and the ESP and Geothermal Taco Zone Valves.

Honeywell Zone Valves are some of the most commonly used Zone Valves in the industry. These Honeywell Zone Valves are designed for hydronic heating systems. ON-OFF and two-way low voltage valves consist of an actuator and valve assembly for controlling the flow of hot water and some models for steam. Zone valves control the flow of water to a specific zone in a hydronic heating system

    Taco valves

Taco created the WAGS valve to protect consumers from a common problem: flooding and damage caused by a water heater failure. It happens some 5.5 million times every year. Every water heater fails, most within 7 to 10 years. And because water continues to be supplied, a leaking water heater can pour hundreds or thousands of gallons of water into the home, damaging floors, rugs, furniture, personal items and the structure itself.

The WAGS (Water And Gas Shut-off) Valve eliminates the problem by automatically shutting off the water supply when a leak occurs. On gas-fired water heaters, WAGS also shuts off the gas supply to eliminate another potentially serious hazard.
WAGS can easily be installed on new or existing water heaters, both to protect the homeowner's property and give them peace of mind.

All homeowners are discovering the wisdom of having a WAGS Water And Gas Safety valve installed on their water heater. No matter the brand or how much the cost, the fact is, every water heater will eventually fail, usually within 7 to 10 years. Without a Taco WAGS valve, a leaking tank will keep refilling and leaking. An undetected water heater leak can release hundreds, even thousands, of gallons of water. For the first time, you can offer a solution to a problem that affects over 5.5 million households every year by opting for Taco valves.

Pumps are an integral part of any Hydronic system. The pumps are used to send water to an area of the hydronic system when required, or to keep the flow of water in the system. For proper installation the pumps should be purchased with a pair of flanges to connect to the water line. .

Taco Pumps are the best selling pumps on SupplyHouse.com. These pumps include the Taco Cast Iron Pumps, the Taco Cast Iron IFC Pumps, and the Taco Bronze Pumps. Taco Pumps are ideal for radiant heat systems. The may be used in the primary loop, or for zoning purposes they may be used along with a swithing relay and thermostats. The best selling Taco pump is the Taco 007 Cast Iron Circulator Pump.

The different models of pumps reflect the flow-rate and head loss that is needed by a given system. The Taco 007 Pump has 7 feet of head loss with a flow rate of 5 gpm. Essentially the greater the number of the Taco Pump the more fluid the pump can move. The more precisely the pump is sized to the system; the better the system will work.
